The easiest way to express a fraction as decimal fraction is to covert to percentage and then divide by 100$rac{12}{25}$ to percentage is simply multiplying by 100$rac{12}{25} imes 100 = 48\%$NOTE: 25 goes into 100, 4 times and $4 imes 12 = 48$Now change the percentage to fraction$48\% = \frac{48}{100} = 0.48$NOTE: $100 = 10 imes 10 = 10^2$From the law of indices, $rac{1}{a^n} = a^{-n}$$\frac{48}{100} = \frac{48}{10^2} = 48 \times \frac{1}{10^2} = 48 \times 10^{-2} = 48.0 \times 10^{-2}$NOTE: Every number has .0 behind. Thus $48 = 48.0$Now change the $48.0 imes 10^{-2}$ to decimals by moving the decimal point by the value of the power. If the power is negative you move to the left the value of the power times and if positive to the right. In $48.0 imes 10^{-2}$,the decimal point is moved to the left 2 times which gives 0.48
