limestone is a sedimentary rock composed primarily of calcium carbonate ,it is highly susceptible to weathering through the process of solution (chemical weathering) when rain water, which is slightly acidic, come into contact with limestone,it can dissolve the calcium carbonate leading to dissolution of rock surfaces ,karst processes and formation of underground passage ways
