Hence the perimeter of a square $=4 \times L$, where $L$ means LengthSince the perimeter of the rectangle is the same as the perimeter of the square,$\Rightarrow$ The perimeter of the square is also 32$\Rightarrow 4L=32$ Divide both sides by 4$\;\frac{4L}{4}=\frac{32}{4}$$\Rightarrow L=8$Area of a square $=$ Length $\times$ BreadthLength = Breadth$\Rightarrow$ area of a square $=$ Length $\times$ Length $=L^2$Length of the square is 8$\Rightarrow$ the area of the square $=8 \times 8=64 \text{cm}^2$
