3x+2y+4=0
Rearrange:
2y=−3x−4
Divide both sides by 2
y = 2−3×−4
y = 2−3×−2
∴ the gradient of the line 3x + 2y + 4 = 0 is 2−3
If two lines are perpendicular to each other ∴ m1xm2 = -1
Let m1=2−3∴m2=m1−1=2−3−1=32
From the equation of a line which is given as m = x−x1y−y1 where (x1,y1)=(2,3)
∴32=x−2y−3
=3(y - 3) = 2(x - 2)
=3y - 9 = 2 x -4
=3y = 2 x -4 + 9
∴ 3y = 2x + 5
